The “54th Metallography Conference” (MET) took place from September 16th to 18th, 2020. In the weeks and months before, the German Materials Society (DGM) had worked intensively on setting up a digital platform that displayed both the Scientific Program and the traditionally affiliated Exhibition - and connected both with a single click.

Over the course of the three-day conference, more than 270 participants browsed through the DGM platform, which has numerous functionalities to transfer the amenities of an on-site event to the Internet. During the development stage, it was clear throughout the entire period of conference planning that there would also be an exhibition to create the grown connection between science and industry.
