Superalloys 2022 - over 300 participants exchanged views

From September 18 to 22, 2022, the international symposium focusing on Ni- and Co-based superalloys and their related materials met in Bamberg. Chair of the conference, Prof. Dr. rer.nat. Mathias Göken, Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg, invited the auditorium not only to attend the plenary and topical presentations of the total of eleven Main Topics, but also to socialize as part of the accompanying program of superalloys. 212 face-to-face and 110 online participants attended the hybrid-organized Superalloys.

During the four-day event, subject matter experts from academia and industry provided information on all topics in the field of superalloy research, including alloy development, processing effects, mechanical behavior and microstructural investigations, coatings and environmental influences. Of increasing importance also in the field of superalloys were contributions focusing on sustainability and life cycle assessment, material selection through digital data analysis and artificial intelligence, and material modeling and simulation.

The city tour in Bamberg as well as the brewery tour familiarized with the typical features of the country, so that the topics of the social evening went far beyond the technical scientific.

The DGM would like to thank Prof. Dr. Göken for his professional cooperation and commitment to the organization of the 4th European Symposium on Superalloys and their Applications - EuroSuperalloys 2022. Also to all speakers and participants - thank you very much for your participation.
