The CLASCO Project will hold its final workshop at the 5th Symposium on Materials and Additive Manufacturing – Additive 2026, taking place from 24 to 26 March 2026 in Kassel, Germany, and online. As part of the conference programme, CLASCO will organise Symposium G, dedicated to advanced laser-based post-processing in additive manufacturing.
Laser-based post-processing is a crucial step in unlocking the full potential of metal additive manufacturing for high-performance applications. Precise surface control, functionalisation of complex geometries, and innovative monitoring methods are essential for meeting demanding requirements in aerospace, medical, and energy applications.
The symposium will address the following topics:
- Surface roughness reduction
- Functionalisation of complex geometries
- Advanced monitoring techniques
- Sustainability of processes
- Artificial Intelligence approaches
- High-performance applications in aerospace, medical, and energy
By connecting research insights with industrial challenges, Symposium G will highlight how laser-based methods can support the broader adoption of additive manufacturing. The session is open to external contributions, and researchers as well as industry experts are invited to submit abstracts and present their work to an international audience.
Through its role at Additive 2026, CLASCO contributes to the goals of the European Made in Europe initiative, fostering collaboration between science and industry and strengthening Europe’s manufacturing research and innovation.
External contributions are welcome. Submit your abstract here: https://dgm.de/am/2026/submission/submit-your-abstract
