Young Talent Committee

The primary goal of the DGM Young Talent Committee is to create optimal framework conditions for the young researchers in the DGM network and to contribute to the best possible interdisciplinary networking of the young investigators through appropriate measures. Furthermore, the Young Talent Committee represents the interests of the Young-DGM members through its spokesperson vis-à-vis the Executive Board and other committees.

Essential tasks are:

  • Advising the Executive Board on fundamental training and junior staff issues and preparing decisions.
  • Initiation and monitoring of activities to promote and network young talent in the field of materials science and engineering from science and industry.
  • Preparation and implementation of special events, conferences, training courses, academies, junior career workshops, applicant fairs, etc. for young scientists in cooperation with the committees of the DGM (e.g. expert committees) but also with other associations and industries.
  • Provision of a network of contact persons for young DGM members on questions of professional orientation, career planning, and networking with like-minded people or the entire community.

 

Goals

The primary goal of the DGM Young Investigators Committee is to create optimal conditions for young scientists in the DGM network and to contribute to the best possible interdisciplinary networking of young scientists through appropriate measures. Furthermore, the Young Scientists Committee represents the interests of the Young-DGM members to the Executive Board and other bodies through its spokesperson and deputy spokesperson. The work of the Young Scientists Committee serves the constant adjustment of the activities of the DGM and its offer for the young scientists in the field of materials science and engineering and their application.
