MSE at halftime

On Day 1 of the “Materials Science and Engineering Congress” (MSE) most of the 875+ attendees spent their time browsing through and getting familiar with the Conference Platform’s functionalities provided by the German Materials Society (DGM). On Wednesday, September 23rd, 2020, the networking aspect moved to the forefront. Thanks to the noon Poster Session as well as the Virtual Exhibition offered a chance to step onto unfamiliar ground, connect with both authors and company representatives to discuss numerous topics and widen their respective horizons.

Over the duration of an entire hour the Scientific Program paused to fully allow the Poster Hall receiving the attention it deserved. With just a few mouse clicks the Conference’s attendees were able to browse through the 100+ contributions, with a brief abstract attached to each poster gave a well-put together summary of what was displayed in detail. All poster authors took the time to answer questions via the Q&A module or even made themselves available for in-depth conversations in more than 600 separate Video Chat Rooms.

Similarly busy times could be witnessed at the Virtual Exhibition, which listed a total 13 individually designed booths. Between lectures and in co-existence with the Poster Session a big chunk of the Conference participants present strolled around the digital area to get a glimpse at the products and information on display. Having this in mind more than 5.300 access requests were recorded until the MSE intermission.
