During the two-hour event, Prof. Dr. Peter Gumbsch presented an overview of the essential basics of various funding programs and opportunities in a clear 50-minute lecture. Especially the Do's and Dont's made some people think but also led to some exciting discussions and contributions. For a particularly intensive exchange, there was an hour-long opportunity after the lecture to exchange ideas with experienced proposal writers within changing breakout sessions (small workrooms) and thus to take away important tips and tricks for their own proposals.
Thanks to the digital possibilities, our up to more than 50 participants were able to benefit not only from the experience of Prof. Dr. Peter Gumbsch (KIT, Fraunhofer IWM), but also from the expertise of Dr. Katrin Jahns (RWTH Aachen), Prof. Dr. Jürgen Rödel (TU Darmstadt), Dr. Sarah Fischer (Fraunhofer IZFP) and Prof. Dr. Thomas Niendorf (Uni Kassel), who had agreed to act as contact persons in the breakout sessions.
This was a successful kick-off event and we are optimistic that more exciting and specific events on proposal writing will follow in the future.
Many thanks to all participants and attendees!
