Despite the strong growth of direct energy deposition processes and binder jetting, forecasts indicate that laser beam powder bed processes will continue to dominate the market for metal additive manufacturing. On the distribution of industrial sectors, the combined sector of "Aviation, Defense & Space" takes the largest shares with 21% of the total market. "Medical", however, is the largest stand-alone sector with 15% market share, he said.
