The diverse program included 96 oral presentations, 46 oral poster presentations, and approximately 50 posters. The program was framed with 5 top-class plenary lectures:
Prof. Alexander Bismarck, University of Vienna, AT
"Hierarchical Composites with High Carbon nanotube Loading"
Prof. Conchúr Ó Brádaigh, University of Edinburgh, UK
"Thermoplastic Infusion and In-Situ Polymerisation of PA-6 and Acrylic Composites"
Dr. Peter Wagner, Isovolta AG, AT
"Silica-based CMC-prepreg: Industrialization hurdles"
Prof. Gregory N. Morscher, University of Akron, US
"High Velocity, Elevated Temperature Burner Rig Testing With Stress of Ceramic Matrix Composites"
Assoz.Prof. Katharina Resch-Fauster, Montanuniversität Leoben, AT
"Fully bio-based epoxy thermosets for high performance composites: chances and challenges"
The conferences were rounded off by a gala dinner, which invited networking after the meal, and by a poster evening, where all participants could examine the posters - on site and online - and discuss them with the respective authors.
During the two events, prizes were awarded to the best posters. The Poster Award was given to:
- Platz: Jannis Hüppauff, Leibniz-Institut für Verbundwerkstoffe, Kaiserslautern:
„Optimized design for lightweight hydrogen pressure vessels“
As well as the following two 2nd places:
- Ulrike Kirschnick, Montanuniversität Leoben:
“Options to evaluate GFRP composite recycling from an environmental point of view”
- Florian Lehmann, Technische Universität Dresden - Institut für Leichtbau und Kunststofftechnik:
„Integration of sensor technology in thermoset sandwich composites for the detection of structural damage”
- Platz: Juliane Blarr, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT):
“Comparison of 3D CT image processing and experimental methods to obtain local fiber volume contents of carbon-fiber-reinforced polyamide 6 plate” - Platz: Johannes Wiedemann, TU Braunschweig:
„Strain gage technique to quantify manufacturing-induced residual stresses in fiber metal laminates” - Platz: Sebastian Nendel, Cetex Institut gGmbH, Chemnitz:
“Efficient hot forming of prepreg stacks by means of liquid contact heating”
All winners of a poster award received a one-year DGM membership free of charge. In addition, the two first place winners were invited to attend the MSE Congress free of charge.
We would like to extend a special thanks to our exclusive exhibitor, Zwick&Roell, who successfully represented the industry at the double event.
We would also like to thank the conference chairman of Verbund 2022, Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ralf Schledjewski, and the conference chairman of Hybrid 2022, Prof. Dr. Joachim M. Hausmann, the program committee of both conferences and the joint committee Verbund.
