The seminar took place in the impressive high-rise of the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, whose 11th floor offered a beautiful view of the Frankfurt skyline, the Taunus and Frankfurt Airport. The participants were enthusiastic about the successful mix of theoretical lectures and practical laboratory exercises. They particularly praised the opportunity to apply the knowledge gained directly to real-life examples.
During the “Macroscopy” practical session, the macro sections of welded joints and damage cases such as broken or worn components provided lively discussions. The participants were able to apply what they had learned in the lectures directly to the examples presented, which led to very positive feedback.
Another highlight was the convivial evening at the “Sitte” restaurant in Darmstadt. In a relaxed, open atmosphere, there was ample opportunity for pleasant conversations that went far beyond the seminar content. There was positive feedback throughout the event, and the combination of lectures and practical relevance was highly appreciated by all those present.
Thus, the seminar was a complete success and not only gave the participants new professional impulses, but also promoted the exchange of ideas in a smaller group, creating a personal and intensive atmosphere.
The DGM would like to thank Prof. Dr.-Ing. Säglitz and the lecturers for organizing the training course and we are already looking forward to the training in 2025. Further information will soon be available on the DGM homepage.
