DGM Day 2025: Suggest a Venue Now and Help Shape the Event!

The German Society for Materials Science (DGM) is planning a special innovation for DGM Day 2025: for the first time, the event will take place as an independent event - separate from other conferences. The DGM cordially invites all members to submit proposals for the venue and to take advantage of this opportunity to actively promote their institution.

We are pleased to announce that DGM Day 2025 will take place in a new format! Unlike previous years, the DGM Day will not be held in parallel with a conference, but as a standalone event. This will create more space for intensive exchange and allow you, as host, to focus on your institution.

Invitation to host: Make your university or institute the host!
To represent the diversity of our members in research and industry, we cordially invite you to propose your university or institute to host DGM Day 2025. The event will take place over two days: The first day is traditionally dedicated to the General Assembly and the Awards Ceremony, including the presentation of Honorary Memberships. In the evening, we will honour the award winners and celebrate the scientific achievements of our members.

Second day: Professional exchange and guided tour of the institute
On the second day of the event, hosts will have the opportunity to actively promote their institution. Two or three presentations will give an insight into current research projects and inspire the DGM community. Afterwards, a guided tour of the institute will give participants the opportunity to get to know your scientific facilities and laboratories and to experience the scientific workflows live on site.

We are looking forward to your ideas and to an exciting event!
On behalf of the Executive Committee, your DGM team
