Training Course “Drawing of Wires, Tubes and Profiles”: Essential Know-How for Industry

From 24 to 26 February 2025, the German Society for Materials Science is offering a practice-oriented training course in Clausthal-Zellerfeld that provides key skills for specialists in the tube and wire industry. Under the direction of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Heinz Palkowski, participants will gain in-depth knowledge in plastomechanics, materials science and tribology in order to sustainably optimize the quality of their production processes and strengthen the competitiveness of their company.

The demands on the production of wires, tubes and profiles are constantly increasing. The industry is characterized by pressure to innovate and high quality standards. The DGM training course “Drawing Wires, Tubes and Profiles” offers ambitious specialists a unique opportunity to further their education in a targeted manner and deepen their knowledge in key areas of materials science.

Under the direction of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Heinz Palkowski from the Clausthal University of Technology, participants will gain insights into the essential topics of plastomechanics, material selection and tribology. The practice-oriented program combines theoretical principles with concrete exercises in which participants can directly apply what they have learned.

Why your company will benefit:

  • Plastomechanics: Learn the basics of mechanical flow processes that make material drawing more efficient and cost-effective.
  • Materials science: Understand how different materials affect the drawing process and optimize your material selection for specific applications.
  • Tribology: Minimize friction and wear by adapting your processes, thereby increasing efficiency.

In addition to the specialist topics, the training offers space for exchange with other participants and experts. This creates a valuable network that extends beyond the training day. The dialog makes it possible to discuss industry-specific challenges together and to benefit from proven strategies.
