Dear Members and Friends of the German Society for Materials Science (DGM),
We are pleased to present our new website for the continuing education programs of the DGM! At https://dgm.de/akademie/en/ you will now find intuitive access to our wide range of courses, seminars and workshops.
Our goal is to make your learning experience as easy and enjoyable as possible. We have redesigned our website to make it easier for you to find the courses that match your interests and needs.
Whether you want to specialize, learn about new technologies, or expand your professional network, we have something for you. Take a look and get inspired by our current training programs!
We are also pleased to introduce our training team, including a new member:
- Dr.-Ing. Sebastian Slawik, specialist consultant for materials science and materials engineering, studied materials science at the University of Saarland and received his doctorate. In addition to working at DGM, he is also a research assistant at the Chair of Functional Materials.
- Andreas Abel, who has been a technical officer at the DGM since 2024, completed his studies in materials science at the TU Darmstadt in 2017 and has experience in manufacturing technologies and characterization methods from the R&D sector.
- The DGM is headed by Dr. rer. nat. Stefan Klein, managing director since 2020. After studying physics and earning his Ph.D. at the Ruhr University in Bochum, he worked for more than 9 years at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), where his research focused on the solidification of metallic melts.
- Julia Parimski is new to the DGM team and brings a breath of fresh air to the training department. With a successful degree in event management and extensive experience in the event and hospitality industry, she has acquired in-depth knowledge. Her passion for organizing events drives her to achieve optimal results. With her specialization in event organization, Julia ensures that DGM's offerings are smoothly planned and successfully executed. She takes care of all aspects of event preparation, from conception to follow-up.
We welcome Julia and look forward to working with her!
