Kick off EWCPS with the Short Courses
For those who want to get the most out of EWCPS 2025, the pre-conference short courses on 02 March are a must. In small groups, practice-oriented knowledge on current and future-oriented topics in plasma spectrochemistry will be imparted. Under the direction of leading experts, innovative approaches, analytical methods and specialized applications will be presented in a way that is easy to understand and directly applicable.
Topics range from the precise determination of measurement uncertainties to isotopic and elemental analysis and new developments in microwave-induced plasma spectroscopy. The interactive formats not only promote exchange, but also enable specific questions from practice to be explored in greater depth.
Program Highlights:
Morning (09:00 – 11:30):
- The Art of Evaluating Measurement Uncertainty in Chemical Analysis
Presenter: J. Meija, Ottawa (Canada) - Isotopic Analysis
Presenter: Anika Retzmann, University of Calgary (Canada) - The Rise of Microwave-Induced Plasmas: Fundamentals and Applications
Presenter: Guillermo Grindlay, University of Alicante (Spain) - Speciation/Metallomics
Presenter: A. Raab, Karl-Franzens Universität Graz (Austria)
Lunch (12:30 – 2:00 pm):
- Elemental and Isotopic Imaging at the Nanometer Scale
Presenters: D. Schaumlöffel, Maria Angels Subirana, CNRS/Université de Pau et des Pays de l'Adour (France) - High Precision and Accuracy Isotopic Analysis by MC-ICP-MS
Presenter: Lu Yang, National Research Council Canada - Single Cell/Single Particle-ICP-MS
Presenters: Heidi Goenaga-Infante, National Measurement Laboratory, LGC (UK); Francisco Laborda, University of Zaragoza (Spain)
