InMAT 2025: New Topic Revealed – Sustainability as the Key to the Future of Materials Science!

Unexpected, but crucial: A new topic enriches InMAT 2025! The 6th Conference on Intelligent Materials in Rostock was already packed with interesting topics such as organic neuromorphic systems, biomagnetic sensing, AI-powered materials analytics and innovative energy solutions. But now, at short notice, another key topic has been added to the program: sustainability!

Sustainability in Focus: Materials for a Resource-Efficient Future
Materials science plays a central role in shaping a sustainable future. With this unexpected addition to the program, InMAT 2025 is putting the spotlight on resource-efficient materials, circular economy approaches and environmentally friendly production processes. Which innovative material solutions help to reduce energy consumption and emissions? Which concepts for sustainable materials have the potential to fundamentally transform industries? These and many other questions will be discussed in Rostock.

A special highlight: Prof. Dr. Franz Faupel from the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel will highlight the responsibility of science for sustainable development and point out new perspectives in his keynote speech on the topic “Sustainability crisis and our responsibility as scientific community”.

Exciting Topics and New Ideas: We Need Your Input!
In addition to sustainability, the conference will also focus on other forward-looking research topics, ranging from bio-inspired computing and innovative implants to magnetoelectric sensors. It will also provide insights into current collaborative research centers (CRCs) and the latest scientific findings in the fields of health, energy and smart materials.

Take the opportunity to present your research to an international community of experts! Submit your poster or pitch contribution by 18 March 2025 and become part of this dynamic discussion. Provide inspiration, make valuable contacts and discover innovative ideas that will shape the future of materials science.
