A total of 40 participants from academia and industry discussed the latest developments and challenges in additive manufacturing.
The keynote presentations covered a wide range of innovative approaches:
- Benjamin Wahlmann (WTM) presented methods for "Process monitoring in PBF-EB using electron optical imaging" for the early detection of material defects.
- Patricia Erhard and Jan Angenoorth (Fraunhofer IGCV) reported on "Slurry-based binder jetting of aluminium" and the challenges involved.
- Niklas Ostermann (RUB) addressed overheating and compensation strategies in his presentation "Geometry-induced heating and its effects in PBF-LB/M",
Prof. Dr. Christian Greiner (KIT) and Dr. Konrad Papis then presented a project idea for the development of copper alloys using laser metal deposition.
The meeting provided a platform for exchange between academia and industry.
The DGM office would like to thank Professor Vasily Ploshikhin, Head of the Additive Manufacturing Technical Committee, for organising and running the meeting.
