Call for Abstracts Open: Materials Testing 2025 Invites You to Partake in Professional Exchange

The 43rd Materials Testing Lecture and Discussion Conference "Werkstoffprüfung 2025" will be held in Dresden, Germany, on 27 – 28 November 2025. Abstracts for papers and posters can now be submitted. The conference will cover a wide range of current developments – from the circular economy and testing strategies in the semiconductor industry to digitalization in materials technology.

Materials testing has long been more than just a classical measurement method – it has become a key factor in material evaluation, sustainability and innovation. Under the motto "Materials and Components on the Test Bench", the German Society for Materials Science (DGM), together with the Steel Institute VDEh and the DVM, invites you to its annual symposium in Dresden on 27 and 28 November 2025. The event will take place in hybrid form – both at the Deutsches Hygiene-Museum and online.

The call for abstracts is open, the deadline for submission is 30 April 2025. The program advisory board is looking forward to contributions from academia and industry - especially from early carreer researchers.

Relevance and Diversity of Topics

The conference reflects current developments and challenges in materials science. The thematic focus will include:

  • Hydrogen in metals
  • Materials testing in the circular economy
  • Digital methods and automated evaluation
  • Testing of additively manufactured components
  • Failure analysis, quality assurance, standardization
  • Materials testing in the semiconductor industry

A special item on the program is the panel discussion on “Reliability of microelectronics”, in which experts will shed light on the role of materials testing in the context of growing demands on semiconductor products.

Professional Exchange and Exhibition

In addition to presentations and posters, the conference will feature an accompanying exhibition where companies will present their testing technologies, software solutions, and equipment. The aim is to facilitate an intensive dialogue on requirements, standardization and future trends in materials testing – from the test laboratory to the development of data-driven processes.
