Prof. Dr. Gunther Eggeler, President of DGM, and Dr. Daniel Miracle, President of TMS, took the opportunity to exchange views on current developments and shared goals within the global materials community. Their encounter highlights the ongoing trust and cooperation between the two societies.

The collaboration between TMS and DGM began in 1993 and has grown steadily over the decades. A Memorandum of Understanding signed in September 2018 formalized the relationship and laid the foundation for joint activities – including reciprocal participation in the annual meetings of both societies and increased scientific exchange.

This partnership aims to strengthen technical and cultural exchange among members, promote joint initiatives, and further international networking in the field of materials science and engineering.

We are pleased that the meeting of both presidents in Las Vegas has once again emphasized the importance and vitality of this transatlantic partnership.
