Editorial May 2025: DGM Annual Report 2024 Published

2024 was a year of change, visible progress, and lots of sharing in materials science and engineering and way beyond. The German Society for Materials Science (DGM) showed again this year how important strong networks, expert dialogue, and working together are for a future that works.

With more than 120 events, including over 60 expert committee and working group meetings, more than 30 diverse training courses and webinars, and a strong international network, 2024 was characterized by a wide range of content and active transfer between research and industry. Professional exchange on an equal footing, targeted promotion of young talent, and our work in interdisciplinary third-party funded projects were at the center of many activities.
