The HGV is the central communication and exchange platform for nationwide activities of the student section of the VWI. It takes place annually in spring and fall at different locations. The student section of the VWI is primarily organized in local university groups. The most important participants are the delegates from the more than 40 university groups of the VWI, who discuss and vote on key issues. The individual university groups are independent associations. Due to the large number of university groups, there are five so-called university group cooperations, in which the university groups are grouped together on a supraregional basis and organize joint events.
Diverse Program and Strong Participation
Around 150 participants from the university groups, the VWI's Young DGM Federal Team, and the project managers of the nationwide events gathered at the HGV. Representatives of the partner associations ESTIEM, VDE, and WINGnet were also present. The event was extremely productive and professionally organized. For example, there were clear rules for speaking in order to prioritize the importance of contributions. During the HGV, great importance is attached to a balanced mix of work and networking. To this end, a company contact fair was organized on Thursday, where participants could find out about potential job opportunities from representatives of well-known companies.
Schedule for the Event
On the first day, the most important organizational matters were explained at the beginning. The HGV patrons then welcomed the participants. This was followed by a city rally to get to know the city and the other participants. On Thursday, there were various company presentations, meetings with status reports on upcoming and past events, and workshops.
Friday started with a meeting. After lunch, information from the VWI office was presented in a meeting. The official agenda ended with various workshops. In the evening, there was the traditional closing gala dinner for every HGV.
Presentations and Farewell
On Saturday, immediately after the attendance check, the DGM and the other partner associations were introduced. After lunch, elections were held to decide the venues for future nationwide VWI events. On Sunday, a leisurely brunch was organized, giving participants the opportunity to say goodbye to each other in a relaxed atmosphere. Afterwards, everyone made their way back to their respective homes.
The Young DGM would like to thank everyone for the warm welcome and the opportunity to introduce itself!
