Verbund 2026: Abstracts Sought for Innovative Developments in Composite Materials Technology

Composite materials are among the key materials used in many industrial and technological applications. The Verbund 2026 symposium at Chemnitz University of Technology is seeking contributions that present new developments, research findings, or practical applications in this field.

The Verbund 2026 symposium offers researchers and experts the opportunity to present their latest work in the field of composite materials and to engage in discussion with colleagues from science and industry. The call for abstracts covers a wide range of topics within composite materials technology.

The focus is on the following topics, among others:

01: Polymer matrix composites
02: Metal matrix composites (MMC)
03: Ceramic matrix composites (CMC)
04: Material composites with different material classes, e.g., hybrids, layer structures, or sandwich systems
05: Bio-inspired composites and applications in medical technology
06: Digitalization of material and structural information
07: Modeling, simulation, design, and construction approaches
08: Manufacturing processes, including additive processes, joining technology, and coating
09: Strategies for recycling, repair, and sustainability
10: Analysis of composite systems and joint zones
11: Engineering applications in various industrial sectors
12: Surface and coating technology

As the venue, Chemnitz University of Technology stands for application-oriented research, interdisciplinary cooperation, and excellent conditions for scientific exchange. Abstracts can be submitted until 31 August 2025.

The event will take place in person in Chemnitz and online. Further information on participation, registration, and the program will follow.
