The focus was on scientific keynote speeches from the Technical University of Darmstadt. Felix Kirmaier presented on the correlation between the microstructural and mechanical properties of IN718 from different manufacturing processes. Pia-Sophie Becks then presented the potential of "extreme high-speed laser cladding" (EHLA) for manufacturing thermoelectric contacts.
The project outline "Cross-scale Prediction of Sintering Distortion for Metal Binder Jetting Using Computer Vision — SkaVi," a joint project of the Fraunhofer Institute for Additive Production Technology (IAPT) and the Institute for Materials Applications in Mechanical Engineering at RWTH Aachen University, was also presented.
The next Technical Committee and IAB Additive Manufacturing meeting will be held online on 03 December 2025. Project outlines for this meeting can be submitted until 10 November 2025.
