As always, Thursday was devoted to a series of presentations. In addition to an introduction to MTU Maintenance GmbH Hannover, there was a presentation on Rolls-Royce Deutschland Ltd. Co. KG Dahlewitz laboratory, the agenda included discussions on electrolytic preparations in the steel sector and machine learning and AI in materialography. Next came a final discussion of the results of the ongoing joint experiment, “Zielpräparation 2.0” followed by the official conclusion of the experiment. A summary of the experiment will be presented at the Metallography Conference in Bochum in October. The first day concluded with dinner at the Ernst-August-Brauhaus in Hanover.
The second day began with a presentation on the variation of etching agents for different material groups. Then, Dr. Karin Schindler, the host from MTU, organized a tour of the assembly halls and laboratories of MTU Maintenance GmbH. The tour provided fantastic insights into the maintenance and servicing of aircraft engines. Thank you again for the invitation to experience a world that is not often accessible!
