In-Depth Insights Into Mechanical Materials Testing
The training course offered a thorough introduction to mechanical materials testing, covering both theoretical principles and practical applications. The lectures provided participants with valuable insights into the various testing methods and their significance for material selection and quality assurance in practice. The focus was on basic methods such as tensile, hardness, and notch impact testing, which are used to assess the mechanical properties of materials. 

Practical Experiments in the WPT Laboratory
Of particular interest were the practical experiments carried out by the participants under the guidance of experienced scientists in the WPT laboratory. Here, they were able to directly apply the knowledge they had learned and carry out the testing procedures independently. The exercises not only offered an in-depth examination of the mechanisms of materials testing, but also the opportunity to experience modern equipment and procedures in practical use. 

Interactive Exchange and Lively Discussions
The interactive exchange between the participants and the speakers contributed significantly to the success of the event. Discussions about current challenges in materials testing and the application of testing methods in various branches of industry enriched the seminar and created a lively and practice-oriented atmosphere.

Outlook
The next DGM training course on “Introduction to mechanical materials testing: theory and practice” is expected to take place again in Dortmund in fall 2027. Due to high demand, early registration is recommended.
