Invitation to the Conference
The 8ᵗʰ International Conference on Ferromagnetic Shape Memory Alloys focuses on a field of research that continuously provides new inspiration. Ferromagnetic shape memory alloys combine magnetic responsiveness with distinctive deformation mechanisms, opening up a wide range of scientific and technological questions. The conference invites researchers and developers to discuss current findings, exchange perspectives, and take joint steps for future developments. 

Conference Facts at a Glance 

• ICFSMA 2026 will take place on 31 August – 03 September 2026, in Kassel (Germany) and online. The conference offers space for intensive scientific exchange, structured networking, and an overview of international developments in the field of FSMAs.
• Submission of contributions
  Researchers are invited to submit their work and actively enrich the discussion. Contributions can be submitted as lectures, poster pitches, or posters. The deadline for abstracts is 29 January 2026. The conference addresses both early project phases and more advanced research and is aimed at anyone who is advancing the field scientifically or in terms of application.
• Topics and scientific scope
  The conference topics, which will be published shortly, cover the entire spectrum of FSMA research. These include fundamental mechanisms, magneto-mechanical coupling processes, microstructural design, modeling approaches, processing technologies, and modern characterization methods. Applications in actuators, sensors, and energy-related systems are also a focus, with both fundamental questions and translation-oriented contributions being considered.

  Kassel offers a versatile setting for the conference. The city combines cultural tradition with a lively university landscape. The UNESCO-listed Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe, the history of documenta, and the traces of the Brothers Grimm characterize the environment.
