During the online event, six nominated materials science graduates presented their work in 20-minute talks followed by a question session with the expert jury. The scope of the contributions was broad and included new, partly unexpected insights. The format also offered valuable scientific input for established professors. The overall quality of the presentations was remarkably high. All participants convinced with well-structured and clearly argued talks.
At the end of the competition, the jury selected three winners.
- 1st place: Andrada-Ioana Damian-Buda, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU)
- 2nd place: Seyed Alireza Sheikholeslami, University of Freiburg
- 3rd place: Yosra Dammak, Max Planck Institute for Sustainable Materials
All three awardees receive a free one-year DGM membership. In addition, the first-place winner is invited to attend Junior EUROMAT 2026 in Greece free of charge and present her work to an international community of young materials scientists.
