Working Group of the Joint Committee High Performance Ceramics
In-Process Testing Methods

The Working Group “In-Process Testing Methods” shows that cooperation between the various working groups in society releases undiscovered potential: The Working Group has already initiated several round robin tests, for example on the determination of the particle size distribution of ultra-fine powders, or on the particle size and zeta potential of ultra-fine and nanopowders.

The participation of laboratories from different institutions showed the relevance of these research problems. By discussing the results with equipment manufacturers and users, the research results could be directly transferred into practice.

Goals

  • Scientific exchange regarding the development and application of equipment and methods for in-process testing in the entire ceramic process chain.
  • Presentation of newly developed testing equipment by manufacturers.
  • Formulation of development needs and initiation of joint research and development projects of test equipment developers and users of in-process testing methods.
  • Validation of test methods by interlaboratory tests.
  • Exchange of information on standardization activities in the field of in-process testing.
