Abstract Submission & Management

 Poster submission is still possible


The organizers invite the LightMAT community to submit abstracts for posters related to the conference topics. Especially young scientists are encouraged to contribute to the conference.

For the submission of an abstract, no booking is necessary until a contribution is confirmed. The invoice must then be paid within the dedicated time. If an abstract is rejected, the participant is entitled to a refund.

Poster (3 min oral presentation in a live poster session, introducing their poster. Additionally it's possible to upload a video with your poster presentation. The video will be displayed at your poster in the poster area of the virtual platform.)

Only an abstract, written in English, of no more than 300 words is required for the abstract submission.

Abstract Management

As an author, please note the following important information


  • 4 October 2021 - Short Paper (Lecture & Poster)
  • 1 November 2021 - Final Poster (Poster only)
  • 28 February 2022 - Proceedings at metals


  • Each author (lecture and poster) has the opportunity to submit a short paper for his or her contribution. To create the paper, please use the template, which you can download below, and follow the instructions included. The short papers will be published at LightMAT 2021. Each author who submits a short paper agrees to its publication in the context of LightMAT 2021.
  • The short paper can also be submitted after the deadline for abstract submission and acceptance of your contribution.
  • The deadline for submission of the short paper is the 4 October 2021.


Format of posters in portrait format, size A0. As a file format, we recommend JPG. The maximum size must not exceed 25 MB.

The finished poster must be completed and uploaded by 1 November 2021.



  • Please prepare your presentation (lecture or oral poster presentation) in 16:9 format.
  • You will give presentation directly from your computer and do not need to upload the presentation in advance.
  • LightMAT is a live event. We will try to schedule all presentations accordingly to ensure that the respective author can give the presentation live in his or her time zone.
  • We will offer several test sessions before the event, where you can test the screen, microphone and camera sharing with our technicians, so that there are no problems during the event. You will be informed about these dates in time.


5. Proceedings

  • LightMAT is pleased to publish a Special Issue in collaboration with Metals by MDPI magazine again this year. This Special Issue on light materials is set to publish selected works presented at this event, in order to share recent progress and new achievements in this emerging field with broader scientific and industrial communities.
  • All authors have the opportunity to submit a manuscript of their contribution of LightMAT2021 for the Special Issue.
  • The deadline for submission of a proceeding is the 28 February 2022.
