DGM-Mentoring-Program

Junior staff work does not just involve organizing and supporting students at local universities and colleges.

Young people need guidance on the options available to them, especially at the decision stage between graduation and starting a career. A decision must be based on whether the person, his or her desires and abilities match the intended career choice.

For the 2024/2025 academic year, DGM's Young Talent Committee is once again offering a mentoring program for students in their final semesters.

At the beginning of the program, 1:1 mentoring tandems are formed through a centralized matching process. Mentors and mentees get to know each other at a kick-off event. Subsequent meetings are organized individually by the tandems. The mentoring is accompanied by a joint program that offers further training and excursions.

The goal of the one-year mentoring program is to provide a regular, comprehensive opportunity for exchange with experienced DGM students who have chosen either an academic or industrial career and are willing to share their experience. Practical perspectives from research and industry should enable the mentees to make a suitable career decision and define their role for the coming years. Mentors also often benefit from the fresh perspectives of young people in the orientation phase and can thus reflect on their own positioning in professional life.

Applications will be open in June. All information will be available on this website.
