WELCOME TO THE 2nd CONFERENCE ON ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN MATERIALS SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING (AIMSE 2025)

18 – 19 November 2025 | Bochum, Germany & Online

We are excited to announce the 2nd Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Materials Science and Engineering (AIMSE 2025), an interdisciplinary event that brings together leading researchers and industry experts to explore the integration of artificial intelligence (AI), deep learning, and machine learning in the field of materials science. Organized by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Materialkunde (DGM), the conference will be held on 18 – 19 November 2025 at Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany, with options for online participation.

Conference Highlights:

  • Innovative Research Presentations: Discover the latest advancements in AI applications within materials science and engineering.
  • Expert Panels: Engage with thought leaders discussing current trends and future directions.
  • Networking Opportunities: Connect with professionals and peers to foster collaborations.

Call for Submissions:

We invite researchers to submit original work on topics including, but not limited to:

  • Microstructure Characterization and Reconstruction: Image-based methods and AI techniques for analyzing and reconstructing material microstructures.
  • Property and Microstructure Prediction: Utilizing machine learning in atomistic and continuum simulations to predict material properties.
  • Materials Discovery: AI-driven approaches for the identification and optimization of new materials.
  • Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Large Language Models (LLMs): Applications of text mining and AI in extracting and managing materials science knowledge.
  • Emerging Data Science Technologies: Novel data science methods with potential applications in materials science and engineering.

Emerging Technologies Track:

We are also introducing a special track dedicated to emerging technologies. Submissions are encouraged on innovative data science techniques that, while not yet widely adopted in materials science and engineering, hold promise for future impact.

Join us at AIMSE 2025 to be at the forefront of the convergence between AI and materials science. We look forward to your contributions and to an inspiring exchange of ideas in this rapidly evolving field.
