The 9th International Conference on Cellular Materials - CellMAT will be held from 25 - 27 November 2026 as a hybrid conference (on-site & online) in Erlangen, Germany.
The CellMAT conference will be held direct at a university for the first time. This decision further emphasizes the close connection between scientific research and industrial practice. The venue underscores the conference's aim of promoting exchange on an equal footing with research while also building bridges to practical applications.
In line with a “back to the roots” strategy, CellMAT is returning to the origin of many innovations: the academic environment. The direct contact to current research work gives participants the opportunity to experience the latest developments firsthand and engage in dialogue with leading scientists.
CellMAT is a biennial conference where scientists from materials scientists, physicists, chemists, process engineers, mechanical engineers and designers exchange the latest research results on cellular materials. The conference gains its special significance through its unique inclusion of all material classes from metallic and ceramic materials to polymers and composite materials, and thus, includes different aspects of a fascinating class of materials and is an exceptional cross-disciplinary and inspiring discussion forum for industry, non-university institutions and academia.
Over the years cellular materials have found their way into numerous applications as functional and construction materials, ranging from tasks in energy and thermal management to biomedical applications and catalytic conversion, just to name a few. CellMAT 2026 will therefore place a particular focus on application-relevant work. In addition, fundamental aspects of cellular materials will, of course, a broad area.
International experts will give keynote/invited lectures about applications in biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, energy conversion, mechanical engineering, chemical systems, and environmental purposes. In this conference, digitalization, artificial intelligence and data handling of cellular materials is included, and, even if our community relays on experiments and simulation, we feel that this new topic is a must to be implemented.
We cordially invite you to join the CellMAT 2026 conference. Share your cellular materials experience with your fellow colleagues, and enjoy the charming and unique atmosphere during our conference
We look forward to seeing you at CellMAT 2026!
