CellMAT 2026 takes place in Erlangen, a compact, well-connected university city in the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region of northern Bavaria. Easy to reach by ICE via Nuremberg, it is home to Friedrich-Alexander-Universität, the lively Bergkirchweih festival, the baroque Schlossgarten and a distinctive Huguenot heritage.

Lectures, posters and the exhibition take place at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering on the FAU campus in Erlangen, within walking distance of the city centre and Erlangen Hauptbahnhof.
Erlangen lies in the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region of northern Bavaria — about 20 minutes by train from Nuremberg's ICE hub, some 25 minutes from Nuremberg Airport, and directly on the A73 autobahn.
IC/ICE and regional trains stop at Erlangen Hauptbahnhof; from Nuremberg Hauptbahnhof it is about 20 minutes. DB Event Tickets are available for participants.
Nearest hub: Nuremberg (NUE), ~25 min to Erlangen via U-Bahn (U2) and a regional train. Munich (MUC) adds wider intercontinental options, ~1.5 h away.
Erlangen sits on the A73, linked to the A3. Parking near the campus and city centre is paid; preferred garages will be shared ahead of the event.
City buses and a short walk connect Erlangen Hauptbahnhof with the FAU campus (~15 min). Most hotels are within walking distance of the venue.
