Structure–property relationships, deformation, fracture and fatigue of foams and lattices — from the cell wall to the bulk, across atomistic and continuum scales.
9th International Conference on Cellular Materials · Call for papers open
Foams, lattices, honeycombs, scaffolds — topology-defined material properties, from manufacturing and characterisation to modelling and application.
When
25 - 27 Nov 2026
Where
Erlangen & online
Cellular materials are no longer a niche — they are lightweight structures, energy absorbers, biomedical scaffolds and functional architectures all at once. CellMAT 2026 is the European meeting place where the materials community answers the questions that foams, lattices, honeycombs and porous solids raise across every engineering discipline.
Structure–property relationships, deformation, fracture and fatigue of foams and lattices — from the cell wall to the bulk, across atomistic and continuum scales.
Lightweight and crash structures, biomedical scaffolds, thermal and acoustic management, filtration and catalysis — what performs, what fails, and why.
Present scientific results, compare characterisation and manufacturing methods, and discuss design strategies for porous and architected materials.
From manufacturing routes and additive architectures to imaging, in-situ mechanical testing, multiscale modelling and the mechanical, thermal and functional behaviour of porous and architected solids — the official scope of the CellMAT 2026 program.
Every DGM Conference follows a transparent path from submitted abstracts to a curated scientific program. The review and program work is carried by members of the materials community.
Step 01
Researchers worldwide submit lectures, posters and workshop proposals.
Step 02
Submissions are evaluated by an scientific committee - experts from across the field.
Step 03
Accepted contributions are arranged into plenaries, lectures, workshops and poster sessions.
Real organizers from the DGM network
The conference, posters and the exhibition all take place on the FAU campus in Erlangen, a short walk from the city centre and Erlangen Hauptbahnhof.
Conference venue
Lectures, posters and the exhibition take place at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering on the FAU campus in Erlangen, within walking distance of the city centre and Erlangen Hauptbahnhof.
