The Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Materials Science and Engineering 2027 (AI MSE 2027) brings together researchers and industry experts to discuss the role of artificial intelligence, deep learning, and machine learning in materials science and engineering. Organized by the German Society for Materials Science (DGM), the conference provides an interdisciplinary platform for current research, methodological developments, and application-oriented approaches at the interface of AI and materials science.

AI MSE 2027 will continue to address central topics in AI-driven materials research. A particular focus will be placed on AI-assisted materials characterization, image-based analysis, microstructure reconstruction, and data-driven approaches for understanding process-microstructure-property relationships. This reflects the strong application-oriented profile of Aalen University and connects advanced AI methods with practical challenges in materials research, development, and quality assurance.

Emerging Technologies Track

AI MSE 2027 will continue to provide space for emerging technologies in data science and artificial intelligence. Submissions are encouraged on innovative methods that hold promise for future applications in materials science and engineering, even if they are still at an early stage of adoption.

AI MSE 2027 invites the materials science and engineering community to explore how AI can support more reliable characterization, faster materials development, improved prediction, and knowledge-based decision-making. We look forward to your contributions and to an inspiring exchange of ideas in this rapidly evolving field.

The conference will be held from 17 to 18 November 2027 in Aalen, Germany, in a hybrid format that opens it to colleagues joining from anywhere in the world.
