… by car
Aalen is well connected to the regional and national road network. You can easily reach the city via the B29 from Stuttgart or the A7 (exits Aalen/Westhausen or Aalen/Oberkochen). Aalen University is located at Beethovenstraße 1, south of the city center. The easiest route is via Stuttgarter Straße (B19), from which you turn into Rombacher Straße and then into Beethovenstraße.
Paid parking is available on the university campus in limited numbers. Additional parking can be found nearby, e.g., along Rombacher Straße or at the public parking lot next to the indoor swimming pool. Please follow the local signs for “Hochschule Aalen” – and allow some extra time to find a parking space if needed.
… by train and bus: Use the DB event ticket!
Aalen is well connected to the Deutsche Bahn rail network, with direct trains from Stuttgart, Ulm, Ellwangen, and Crailsheim. From Aalen central station, Aalen University is about a 15-minute walk. Alternatively, several bus lines are available, including lines 32, 33 or 34 heading toward Hochschule/Stadtoval.
– Boarding: Aalen central station (ZOB)
– Exit: “Hochschule” or “Beethovenstraße”
From there, it’s only a short walk to the auditorium on campus.
… by long-distance bus or plane
Long-distance buses usually stop at ZOB Aalen, directly across from the main station. From there, follow the same walking or bus route described above to reach the university.
The nearest airports are Stuttgart (STR) and Nuremberg (NUE). Both offer regular train connections to Aalen – direct from Stuttgart, and via transfer in Ansbach or Crailsheim from Nuremberg. Travel time is approximately 1.5 hours from Stuttgart and about 2 hours from Nuremberg.
