The Deutsches Hygiene Museum is an open forum for discussion, open to everyone who is interested in the cultural, social and scientific revolutions taking place in our society at the beginning of the 21st century.
Its temporary exhibitions address current or historical themes with regard to science and society, art and culture - such as friendship and wealth, language, happiness or dance. At the centre of the permanent exhibition with a popular science slant, "Human Adventure", are the body and health topics that visitors can explore with the help of exhibits, media units and many interactive displays. The permanent exhibition also displays countless objects from the museum's extensive collection, such as the "transparent man". The regular attractions are rounded off by the experience-based children's museum "Our Five Senses".
The communication of scientific issues and the task of cultural education have traditionally been the cornerstones of the Deutsche Hygiene Museum. Beside holding exhibitions, we offer a broad base of guided tours and educational activities tailored to the requirements of different kinds of visitor. This is complemented by a wide-ranging program of events consisting of lectures, conferences, readings and concerts.
