… by car
Centrally located in Germany, Kassel is well connected via the A7, A44, and A49 motorways, making it easy to reach by car from all directions. Your destination, the University of Kassel's Campus Center, is situated near the Campus Holländischer Platz, just north of the city center. Please note that parking in the surrounding area is limited and mostly subject to fees. Paid parking is available along Mönchebergstraße, Hentschelstraße, and nearby side streets. For a more relaxed arrival, we recommend arriving early, especially on weekdays when demand for parking is higher.
… by train and bus: Use the DB Event Ticket to book your journey!
The fastest and most convenient rail connection is via Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe Station, a key hub on the German ICE network with direct high-speed links from cities such as Frankfurt, Berlin, Hamburg, and Munich. From there, it’s easy to reach the university:
– Take tram line 1 (direction Vellmar) from the station
– Get off at "Holländischer Platz – Universität"
The tram ride takes about 15 minutes and drops you just a short walk from the short walk from Gießhaus at Mönchebergstraße 5, 34125 Kassel.
If you're arriving by regional train, you can also disembark at Kassel Hauptbahnhof, which is closer to the campus. From there, tram lines and buses connect you quickly to the university.
… by long-distance bus or air
Several long-distance bus providers serve Kassel, with stops near Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe and Kassel-Ost. From there, local transport brings you easily to the university.
The closest airport is Kassel-Calden, about 20 km away, with regional connections. For international arrivals, Frankfurt Airport or Hannover Airport offer the most convenient onward travel via ICE trains to Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe.
