The work group „Functional Ceramic Materials and Systems"" was founded with the focus on electromagnetic functional ceramics and their applications. The broad spectrum of functional ceramics includes di-, ferro-, piezo- and pyroelectrics, semiconducting or sensor ceramic materials, magnetic ceramics and ionic or mixes-conducting ceramic materials. The work group covers fundamental aspects, e.g. microstructure- properties correlations, as well as topics of the ceramic technology, ceramic films or ceramic multilayer technology. The application of functional ceramic materials, components and systems is another important topic.
