Light metal

The working group Light Metal consists of 61 members, who represent 27 extrusion companies, 9 universities and 7 companies, as steel- and tool companies, as well as extrusion equipment-companies. The working group meets twice a year. The spring meeting usually takes place in the central of the DGM in Frankfurt on the Main, the autumn session within the annual meeting of extrusion, to be held at a member company of the expert committee extrusion process. The working group has set itself the task to jointly develop solutions to problems where it is not just about the extrusion process itself, but also about the material aluminum and also plant- and tool technologies. In collaboration with the working group Research, practical examinations will be undertaken for this. Furthermore, topics to safety works and environment are discussed and means of benchmarking ratios exchanged. Important for the working group members is the open exchange of information, not only within the session, but also in personal conversations among each other.
