Measurement and Control of Strip Shape

This Committee is concerned with rolling and processing of rolled strip and sheet with respect to flatness and shape. It covers basically the generation of stresses and strains which are introduced to the strip during rolling and coiling and further strip processing of various kinds. Due to the ever increasing demands on tolerances, the semi- as well as the processing industry is faced with consequent production problems such as improper strip guidance on processing machines or spring-back effects during cutting. An interdisciplinary committee consisting of measurement providers, machine producers, strip producers and research institutions shall exchange experience of modern measurement techniques and control algorithms, shall systemize the knowledge in the field and increase the general understanding of the acting mechanisms.

  • Erarbeiten eines wissenschaftlich fundierten Verständnisses zur Simulation von Spannungen und Dehnungen in industriellen Anlagen
  • Initiieren von Forschungs- und Entwicklungsvorhaben: Gemeinsame Projekte von Universitäten, Forschungsinstituten und der Industrie
  • Erfahrungsaustausch zwischen Arbeitsgruppen, die auf dem Gebiet der Planlagemessung und Regelung, dem Anlagenbau von Walz-, Reck- und Richtanlagen und der Erzeugung und Verarbeitung von gewalzten Bändern tätig sind
