The DGM Expert Committee Polymer Materials addresses structure–property relationships in single- and multi-component polymer materials. Its focus includes polymer development, compounding, and polymer characterization, as well as the questions arising from their interaction.

The annual exchange brings together working groups from universities, non-university research institutions, and industry. It provides a forum for discussing current topics in the development of new polymer materials and for establishing contacts across these fields.

01 · Technical Focus

Topics in Polymer Materials

Fundamentals

Structure and Properties

Structure–property relationships are at the core of the discussion.

The committee addresses the understanding of structure–property relationships in single- and multi-component polymer materials.

Development

Polymer Development and Compounding

Current topics in development and compounding are addressed.

Working groups in polymer development and compounding contribute their topics to the annual exchange of experience.

Characterization

Polymer Characterization

Characterization complements the discussion of polymer materials.

Working groups active in polymer characterization are also part of the annual exchange of experience.
02 · Exchange

Dialogue Between Research and Industry

The annual exchange brings working groups from universities, non-university research institutions, and industry into contact. It focuses on current topics in the development of new polymer materials.

The committee thereby creates connections between the participating working groups and their technical perspectives.

Single- and multi-component polymer materials are at the centre of the committee’s work. The committee considers structure–property relationships in connection with polymer development, compounding, and polymer characterization.

The annual exchange connects working groups from universities, non-university research institutions, and industry. It provides a setting for discussing current topics in the development of new polymer materials and for building professional contacts between the groups involved.
