Plasma technology employs ionized gases for surface modification, thin-film deposition and etching. Techniques such as PVD, PECVD, plasma activation or atmospheric-pressure plasmas generate reactive species that alter chemical bonds, grow coatings or remove contaminants. Applications include corrosion protection, adhesion promoters, sterilization and microstructuring.
