International Professional Women's Network
Women@DGM

Women@DGM, initiated by the German Society for Materials Science (DGM), promotes professional exchange and networking between female DGM members and experts from science and industry on a national and international level. Since the first DGM Lunch Talk in 2021, events for women have been held regularly. Initiated, moderated and regularly accompanied by Prof. Dr. Martina Zimmermann (former DGM President).

By Women for Women

The events of Women@DGM primarily serve professional promotion and networking. A regular highlight, the "Women's Breakfast", has already found a large audience at several DGM conferences. At the beginning of 2023, the virtual "New Year's Brunch" discussed focal points for future collaboration and network perpetuation. Led by Dr. Blanka Lenczkowski, an "Empowerment Workshop" was held for the first time in 2023. Further events - on-site, online and in a hybrid format - are already planned.

"The need for professional exchange and close networking is great," also affirms Prof. Dr. Birgit Skrotzki (DGM President). Together with Martina Zimmermann and other committed experts, the Women@DGM network will continue to grow and consolidate as a platform.
