Magnesium requests specific demands on engineers and users. Unfortunately magnesium alloys are not often mentioned and discussed during education and this results in limited informations for potential users. The work group "Engineering Materials" provides a platform where areas of application, hints for construction and processing as well as material data are discussed and provided for the end-user. This includes the safe handling of magnesium and its alloys. Furthermore the work group provides possibilities to discuss solution approaches due to contacts with an active community of users and researchers in the field.
