Field assisted sintering and synthesis (FAST/SPS) is used to rapidly produce different materials, such as ceramics, metals, semiconductors, composites, with very good properties. Thermal, electrical, chemical and mechanical phenomena are involved in this complex process. Thats why analytical and numerical models, systematic experimental investigations, new processes based on an electric field effect need to be developed in synergy.
