Functional Ceramic Materials and Systems

Functional ceramic-based systems employ ceramics with electrical, magnetic or ionic activity such as piezo- and ferroelectric phases, ceramic electrolytes or dielectrics. Applications span sensors, actuators and energy devices to solid oxide fuel cells and MEMS. Material design, interface engineering and manufacturing processes are critical for performance and reliability.
