What is Young-DGM?

The goal of the Young DGM is to represent the interests of young members within the DGM, to promote dialogue between them and to provide a platform for young people to get involved. The central meeting of the Young DGM is the Young DGM General Assembly, which takes place every year. The Young DGM General Assembly is the "Parliament" of the Young DGM. Here the interests of the Young DGM members are discussed and passed on to the Young DGM Committee and the DGM Board via the national spokespersons.

The Young DGM supports the statutory goals of the DGM.

Tasks and Goals of the Young DGM

  • Regular meetings for young DGM members to exchange experiences, also with external participants, in the field of MatWerk and related disciplines. The aim is to create a network of young people interested in MatWerk for the mutual exchange of interests and experiences.
  • The Young DGM establishes and maintains contacts with contact persons at universities and colleges, student councils and other organizations for young people in related disciplines.
  • They participate in discussions concerning the interests of young DGM members at the Young DGM Annual Meeting, the Young Members Forum, the Young Members Committee and the DGM Day.
  • Young DGM members can form local groups for better networking or easier organization. These groups can then offer specific activities for the local target group. These sub-groups remain part of Young DGM.
