Magnesium

Magnesium is notable for low density and good specific strength but is characterized by HCP lattice with limited ductility and increased corrosion susceptibility. Alloying and surface strategies improve mechanical properties and corrosion resistance for applications in lightweight structures and bioresorbable implants.
