Biomaterials

Biomaterials are materials optimized for interaction with biological systems, for applications such as implants, prostheses or tissue scaffolds. Requirements include biocompatibility, controlled degradation, mechanical matching to tissue and tailored surface functionalization to control cell responses and immune reactions.
