Circular Materials Expert Committee met again online

In the Expert Committee "Circular Materials" the sixth online meeting in the first year since its foundation took place on 23 June 2022. The topic of the meeting was "National activities in the field of Circular Materials".

The following speakers contributed to a successful session:

Benjamin Hein, Head of Business Unit Development Circular Economy from DIN - German Institute for Standardization: "Setting Standards. Closing Circuits."
The great relevance of standardization for Circular Materials was impressively described and the DIN activities for the German Standardization Roadmap Circular Economy were presented.

Paul Martin Mählitz from the DERA (German Mineral Resources Agency) Dialogue Platform for Recycling Raw Materials office at the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources: "Presentation of the new DERA work area for recycling raw materials".
The DERA with its very different activities from raw material information to the German Raw Material Efficiency Award and the Dialogue Platform Recycling Raw Materials were presented.

Flavio Soldera, Saarland University and EUSMAT - European School of Materials, Saarbrücken: "CIRKLA - an international initiative for the circular economy in the Greater Region".
The presentation, originally requested for the second session in October ("International Projects"), presented the initiative with partners from Belgium, Luxembourg, France and Germany, which is developing a project portfolio in the field of education, research and innovation.
