Training course: Direct and indirect extrusion

From 14 to 15 May 2024, the advanced training course "direktes und indirektes Strangpressen" will take place in Berlin, Germany. Under the direction of Priv.-Doz. Dr.-Ing. Sören Müller, the participants will acquire a sound basic knowledge in the field of extrusion moulding. In addition, exciting comparative tests will be carried out on an 8 MN extrusion and tube press.

Extrusion is one of the cornerstones of forming technology and is of great economic importance thanks to the technical developments of recent years in areas such as plant engineering, control, process control and the possibilities for recording and calculating the required force and labour requirements. Close links with other production technologies and computer-aided process control or simulation methods provide many impulses for the development of new applications. With its combination of specialist lectures by lecturers and practical experiments, the "Direct and Indirect Extrusion" training course offers a comprehensive closed course on the two extrusion techniques. The detailed program is already available on our website.

Participants can look forward to the following topics and content:

direct extrusion:

Indirect extrusion:

  • Grundlagen des indirekten Strangpressens
  • Strang- und Rohrpressen von Kupfer und Kupferlegierungen
  • Werkzeuge für das Schwermetallstrangpressen
  • Demonstration der Ermittlung von Umformkennwerten mit dem Hochgeschwindigkeitsumformsimulator Gleeble 3800
  • Versuchsauswertung der Strangpressversuche von Aluminiumlegierungen
  • Diskussion und Erfahrungsaustausch

The training course is primarily aimed at employees of manufacturing companies. However, employees working in research are also cordially invited to register for the "Direct and indirect extrusion" training course. Take the opportunity to expand your individual expertise and exchange experiences and lessons learnt while networking with colleagues. Come to Berlin!

In addition to this training course on direct and indirect extrusion, the DGM's wide range of training events offers the opportunity for individual further training. Take a look at our program!
